How will the coronavirus impact arts and culture in Kent?

In challenging times, it is more important than ever to support each other and to work together towards a better future. In March 2020, we teamed up with Kevin Grist to undertake a short piece of research so we get a snapshot of the economic impact the coronavirus epidemic is likely to have on creatives in Kent. We launched a short survey for self-employed creatives and art organisations in Kent.

We were particularly interested in:
– The issues creatives face in the next 3 months
– The likely economic impact
– What help they need right now

We have now processed the raw results and would like to share findings with the creative community, as well as with policy makers and funders.

  • Download the results for self-employed creatives HERE (100 responses).
  • Download the results for art organisations HERE (44 responses).

We are also sharing this with our mailing list and on our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Please take part in conversations, the discussions will help everyone in the creative sector in Kent.

Let us know what you think!

In the next few days, we will publish on here views, comments and analysis from professionals of the art sector. These we will help compile ideas and suggestions leading to recommendations…

We hope this will help our creative community build resilience.

Thank you!
