Kent Creative Awards – Submission Guidelines

 Kent Creative Awards 2019


  • Any Kent based individual or organisation working in the arts and culture sector can enter the Kent Creative Awards.
  • To qualify, your work (or activity/project/portfolio) must have been made, produced, delivered, presented, exhibited, opened… since 1st January 2018.
  • You can enter the Awards yourself or nominate someone. Should you nominate someone, you must have their permission.
  • To be considered, all Submission Forms and supporting material must be received by Kent Creative no later than Saturday 16th August 2019.
  • Entrants can enter only two categories to the Kent Creative Awards.

A few things to keep in mind

  • Each category will need to receive a minimum of three applications to be open
  • A panel of judges will choose 3 finalists for each category out of all the submissions. Depending on the category, they will follow a selection of criteria including:
    • Arts and culture must be central to the works or projects
    • Artistic quality and talent
    • Execution and technique
    • Professionalism
    • Effort, commitment and enthusiasm
    • Creativity and innovation
    • Proven results and success
  • If your submission is shortlisted you are strongly encouraged to attend the Awards ceremony in November 2019. One ticket will be made available free of charge to each finalist. It is expected than you will purchase additional tickets at your own expenses (Ticket is approximately £65 pp yet to be confirmed;). Kent Creative  is a ‘not for profit’ community interest company and is not able to offer all tickets for free to the ceremony or to subsidise any travel or accommodation.
  • In entering the Kent Creative Awards, you accept all responsibility for
    • gaining the consent of anyone whose work is involved
    • ensuring that any further clearances are gained where necessary to comply with legal requirements such as Copyright
  • The submitter of the application indemnifies Kent Creative Arts CIC against any claims that might arise out of its use of any visual materials supplied to support a submission.
  • Submission of a work does not guarantee nomination.
  • Kent Creative reserves the right to reject any submission or nomination at any time without prior consultation with the submitter or nominee.
  • From the initial Submissions, judges will shortlist the top 3 per Award category. Final Nominations will be announced in September 2019.
  • Judges are respected professionals drawn from creative community and active sponsors. No judge with a vested interest in a particular submission will be allowed to serve in the relevant category.
  • In consultation with the submitter, the judges reserves the right to change the category to which a Submission has been made if they feel another category is more appropriate.
  • The decisions of the judges are final.
  • The organisers are not able to provide feedback regarding the decisions of the judges.
  • Shortlisted nominees agree to provide a high quality digital file showing their work, so it can be shown on the ceremony evening and the Awards programme.
  • Winners – announced at the Awards ceremony – agree to have their photographic image taken and published in any promotional material produced by Kent Creative in relation to the Kent Creative Awards.
  • Kent Creative accepts no responsibility for non-receipt of any submission or supporting material.
  • The submitter accepts that their contact details will be stored on a database for use by Kent Creative only
  • Participation in the Kent Creative Awards implies full acceptance of these Guidelines.
